Also, we're going to celebrate the Superbowl. We are not football people, and in fact, we aren't even going to turn on the television. But Kent said that we need treats because he's "like a Jewish boy on Christmas," and he feels left out. So we're going to have nachos with cheese sauce and guacamole, wings, soda, and these crackers from the Pioneer Woman. Maybe we'll play a round of Monopoly while we eat. And cheer really loudly when we purchase a property. "YEAHOO! I got Baltic Avenue!!!"

New phones and other excitement
We got new phones yesterday. Kent's phone (The Blackberry Storm) came with three instruction manuals, four installation CD's, a charger plus international outlet adapters, headphones, a GPS unit, and the kitchen sink. My phone (LG something-or-other) came with a power cord. Just goes to show how our technology needs and know-how are vastly different. Kent was so excited when he opened it, and he played with that phone all the rest of the day. In fact, he's still playing with it. He just brought it over to me to show me how he can watch full episodes of Crusoe from NBC.com on his phone. Oh, and now he downloaded a new "app" called Mobile Banking. And I just barely figured out how to turn my phone on silent. I made another cake for my decorating class. This one looks a little better, and I'm sure it will taste a lot better than the last one when I finally get to bring it home next week. (sorry the picture is blurry!)

how fun, new phones, a party with appetizers and cake too- life doesn't get any better-
Happy Day :}
Sounds like a blast. What provider did you end up going with for your phones? Hope you enjoy your non-football party.
okay, Kent's superbowl comment is TOO funny! I love it!
I'm not a big phone person either -- I got my first one just 3 years ago and the only person I call is Scott.
The cake looks cute! Reminds me of popcorn popping.
John just goat a new phone with an MP3 player in it a few weeks ago and it's like a kid in a toy store. I still have my same old Razor from 3 years ago. Cute cake. Reminds me of popcorn popping too.
I love the cake! so cute. I'm the same way with phones, just tell me how to set the ring and put it on silent/ speaker and I'm good!
oh, new phones, fun! have fun with your "superbowl" part
I just got a new sidekick and I was thrilled to have a cell phone again and I must say your cake look really good = decorated
Ba ha ha! Oh Becca, you make me so happy. It's really too bad I was looking at this post in the library in the institute building--the most silent place on campus. Well, it WAS silent until I started laughing.
I couldn't help it. Happiness just has to escape sometimes. :)
That so sounds like me and Kevin - me with my basic phone, and him with all the fixin's. I have a friend whose husband got an iphone, and she can never get him off of it. Can we say "jealous of a phone"? I hope it doesn't happen to you too :). And all that food sounds so yummy!
You guys crack me up! New phones, cakes, and Superbowl Monopoly sure sound like fun at your house. Tell Kent that we might be calling him in two years to teach us how to run the Blackberry Storm (because Tayler wants one but he probably won't get one for a few years :(.
